About Dr. Naz Jivani
I qualified as a doctor in 1990 and have been working as a GP since 1996. Over the years, I’ve developed a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries, supported by a Masters in Sports Medicine which I completed in 2003.
In addition to general practice, I’m also a rotary pilot — I gained my Private Pilot Licence (H) in 2015 — and now combine both my medical and aviation backgrounds as an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).
I take a straightforward, common‑sense approach to medicine and really enjoy meeting fellow pilots for their medicals. It’s always great to chat, share experiences, and help keep everyone flying safely and confidently.
Experience as a Pilot
Being a private pilot myself, I totally get the pressures and stresses that come with flying. I know what it takes to be a safe pilot and, more importantly, to actually enjoy your time in the air. That personal insight really helps me when I'm doing aviation medicals – I think it makes them more thorough and, hopefully, a bit more empathetic too.
Patient Comfort and Information
I like to make sure pilots and cabin crew feel completely comfortable and informed throughout the medical process. From the first point of contact, I’ll share everything you need to know about the medical requirements and what to expect on the day.
Booking is straightforward and flexible — I do my best to find a time that works for both of us. Prices are clear and transparent, with no hidden extras. The premises are modern and comfortable, designed to make the whole experience as relaxed as possible.
If you’d like a chaperone, that can be arranged, and at the start of your appointment I’ll always talk you through each step, so you know exactly what’s needed to get your Fit Medical Certificate.
Core Values
Compassion, sensitivity, and guidance are my core values approach to aviation medicals. I try and make the medicals as painless and informative as possible. I believe Pilots deserve clear guidance on what's needed to pass their medical. If something needs further checking, I will walk you through what to do next. At the ned of the day, it's all about keeping you fit, safe and flying.
